When you walk around your city what do you notice? For the most part we notice people – how they behave or dress, where they are coming from or going to. We also notice if there are shops around us and if there are, whether they have any special deals.

But if this is all we notice then we are missing out. There are such amazing feats of design and engineering that are all around us, especially in bigger cities.

Think of the fifty storey building you walked past, with its modern design that doesn't make it stand out like a sore thumb. Think about the construction companies who were able to take an architect's and an engineer's drawings and actually make something out if it.

We don't think of construction as a modern marvel but it absolutely is. Just think about the next building to be named the tallest building in the world, think about climbing all those stairs and then say it isn't a modern marvel.
